Kamala Harris, Doug Emhoff receive first dose of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine live on TV

Kamala Harris’ vaccination comes about one week after Biden received the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine live on national television.

US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris received first dose of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine live on television in Washington DC on Tuesday, December 29. After receiving jab in her left arm, Harris said that she “barely felt it”. Her husband Doug Emhoff also received first dose of vaccine and he said that “it was quick, easy and safe”. 

“I trust scientists. And it is scientists who created and approved this vaccine. So I urge everyone, when it is your turn, get vaccinated,” said Harris. She added, "I want to remind people that y have trusted sources of help and that's where y will be available to go to get  vaccine. So I encour m to do that."

Biden, Fauci urge Americans to get vaccinated 

Harris’ vaccination comes about one week after US President-elect Joe Biden received  jab live on national television. He received first dose of Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine at a hospital in Newark, Delaware. With just a month left for his White House inauguration, Biden took opportunity to urge all Americans to get iculated as soon as vaccine becomes available to m.

77-year-old leader also garnered praises as he refused to count to three before receiving shot. "I am ready," said Biden as instructed health care professional to inject him with vaccine. Biden praised health care workers and said Trump's administration "deserves some credit getting this off ground."  president-elect said that his wife Jill Biden had received her first dose earlier in day.

Apart from Biden and Harris, or officials and leaders, including Dr. Anthony Fauci and outgoing Vice President Mike Pence, have also been administered vaccine. Trump, on or hand, has t yet received vaccine and won’t be administered until it is recommended by White House medical team.
