In a recent interview, Kamala Harris revealed that she would consider appointing a Republican to her Cabinet if she wins the presidential election in November. This announcement came during her first television interview as the Democratic presidential nominee, which aired on CNN Thursday evening.
When CNN's Dana Bash pointed out that the Democratic National Convention (DNC) featured a number of Republican speakers and asked Harris whether she would include a Republican in her Cabinet, Harris responded affirmatively. "Yes, I would," she said.

Harris didn't specify who she'll appoint
Harris, however, did not specify any particular Republican she has in mind for the role. She noted, "No, no one in particular in mind. ... we got 68 days to go with this election, so I'm not putting the cart before the horse. But I would. I think it's really important."
The vice president emphasized her belief in "inviting diversity of opinion" and the value of including people with different views and experiences in decision-making processes. She added, "It would be to the benefit of the American public to have a member of my Cabinet who is a Republican."

Harris's pledge highlights her commitment to fostering bipartisan cooperation and ensuring a range of perspectives are represented in her administration. However, it is worth adding that any Republican she may appoint, will be an old-school Bush era Republican.
