Man dies in shark attack in US, authorities close beaches in San Luis Obispo: Report

After a man was apparently killed in a shark attack, California authorities have announced the closure of some beaches in San Luis Obispo County.

After a man was apparently killed in a shark attack on Friday, December 24, California authorities have anunced closure of some beaches in San Luis Obispo County. death is reported to be first death in a shark attack in 18 years in area, reported Guardian. Taking to Twitter, Morro Bay Police informed that male surfer was prounced dead at scene at 10:48 am on December 24. 

Morro Bay Police informed that Harbor, Police and Fire Departments responded to a report about a male victim being unresponsive on beach after he was pulled from water. According to Morro Bay Police, male surfer had apparently suffered a shark attack. Harbor Director Eric Endersby told San Luis Obispo that male surfer was discovered around 10:48 am off beach at Morro Bay State Park.

Eric Endersby calls it 'tragic incident'

Citing condition of body, Endersby claimed that attack appeared to have been recent. Furrmore, he mentioned that surfer might have been in water overnight or since early morning. Endersby stated that body was found by a fellow surfer floating in waves near Pit area of Morro Strand rth of Rock. As per  San Luis Obispo report, Eric Endersby revealed that when y arrived at spot a female surfer was assisting victim, however, after y reached spot, y took control. He termed it a 'tragic incident' and offered condolences to family of victim.

Following attack, Harbor Police used a boat to clear area for any or surfers or swimmers in water. After apparent shark attack,  authorities even used a sign board on beach to warn people that area near Pit area had been closed. Endersby ted that y have t received reports of shark sightings in  Morro Bay area recently. He pointed out that y might have t received reports of shark sightings as people do t have concerns about sharks. He called on people to remain alert regarding signs of wildlife activity.
