Man pulled over for playing Pokemon Go on 8 phones at once but not charged. Here's why

Pokemon Go, the once-popular augmented reality (AI) game, still has some people irrevocably hooked on to it, it has emerged. On August 14, a Washington State trooper came across something odd happening in a vehicle, but perhaps even he hadn't expected what he was about to see.

Pokemon Go, the once-popular augmented reality (AI) game, still has some people irrevocably hooked on to it, it has emerged. On August 14, a Washington State trooper came across something odd happening in a vehicle, but perhaps even he hadn't expected what he was about to see. 

According to reports, the trooper, Sergeant Kyle Smith, pulled the car over because he thought that the driver of the vehicle needed help. However, after approaching and making contact with the driver, it emerged that the driver was playing Pokemon Go with eight phones simultaneously. The pictures of the absurd encounter were tweeted out by Trooper Rick Johnson, a spokesman for the Washington State Patrol District. Watch his tweet here:

The driver of the vehicle had eight phones arranged in a grid. He was engaged in a serious Pokemon Go hunt while in his car. Smith had made contact with the driver the shoulder of Highway 518 in Burien, south of Seattle, on the evening of August 13. However, he was not charged as the car was not in motion when he was using the phones.

He was later allowed to go when he assured and agreed to put phones in his back seat. 

"Driver agreed to put phones in back seat and continued his commute with 8 less distractions." said Johnson
