WHAT IS NON-HODGKIN'S LYMPHOMA?
Non-Hodgkin's Lymphone (NHL) is a cancer affecting the white blood cells in the body. Though the treatments continue to get advanced, successful treatment of NHL is very difficult. The recent developments in medicine have come out with a new way of treating such cancers, which has otherwise become immune to traditional treatments.
Immunotherapy has been proven to be an effective treatment for NHL, which eradicates the cancer cells. It trains the body's natural immune system to attack the cancer cells in the body aggressively.
The Nobel Prize in Medicine 2018 was awarded to two scientists, James P. Allison and Tasuku Honko, for their discovery of cancer therapy by inhibition of negative immune regulation i.e. Immunotherapy treatment.
