US Vice President Mike Pence is set to attend President elect Joe Biden’s swearing-in ceremony on January 20 in Washington, CNN reported citing a source.

US Vice President Mike Pence is set to attend President elect Joe Biden’s swearing in ceremony on January 20 in Washington, CNN reported citing a source familiar to matter. Pence had, in past, expressed his desire to attend ceremony, however said that he was waiting for a formal invite. On January 8, Biden reckoned that Pence was “welcomed to attend” adding that he would be “houred to have him” in ceremony.

"He's welcome. I think it's important that as much as we can stick to what have been historical precedents of how an administration changes should be maintained. And so Mike, vice president, is welcome to come. We'd be houred to have him re, and to move forward in transition," Biden was quoted as saying by ANI.

Pence is t only Republican leader who would attend swearing in ceremony in American capital. Former American President George W. Bush is also scheduled to attend inauguration ceremony of Democrats Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, his chief of staff said marking that it would be eighth swearing-in ceremony that Bushes would attend.

President Donald Trump, however, said that he would t attend ceremony. To which, Biden replied that it was a “good thing” and “one of few things” y both agree on.” "He exceeded even my worst tions about him. He's been an embarrassment to country, embarrassed us around world. He's t worthy to hold that office," Biden said. Biden and Harris would be sworn in as 46th President and Vice President of America respectively on January 20 in Washington. On vember 12, Biden concreted his electoral win by securing a majority in Arizona after already emerging a winner in popular vote by over 5 million.
