US: Pence touts Trump to pro-life audience in Florida

During a visit to the battleground state of Florida, Vice President Mike Pence told a pro-life group that "life is winning in American," as he sought to draw a contrast between President Donald Trump and Trump's Democratic rival, Joe Biden.

"Because of the work that you have done, we now have a pro-life champion in the White House," Pence said.

"We have pro-life leaders in statehouses across the country, a pro-life majority in the United States Senate, and we have principled jurists in record numbers in our courts across the land."

"By contrast, Joe Biden and the Democratic Party would take America in the opposite direction," he said.

Pence addressed members of the Susan B. Anthony List, which aims to advance pro-life laws through direct lobbying and grassroots campaigns.

"The American people cherish the right to life," Pence said.

"And we will stand in this movement until we restore the right to life to the center of American law."
