On September 12, According to the international media, a small plane was reported to have crashed immediately after takeoff and bashed into a car on Thursday morning, in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The plane hit a vehicle on US 50 and injured two people inside the plane as reported by the officials. Mark Brady, Prince George's County Fire Department spokesman said that the aircraft lost control before 11:30 a.m., located near to Freeway Airport in Bowie. The airport is situated close to the eastbound lanes of US 50.

Reason of crash unidentified

According to the police investigation is still going on. The Maryland State Police said that the on-duty officers immediately attended the emergency call at the eastbound Route 50 at Church Road after the plane crashed. The reason for the crash is still unknown according to the Police. It was reported that two individuals were taken to the nearby hospital who suffered minor injuries. The other two were also evaluated for the injuries but refused to be taken to the hospital as said by Brady.

Two people injured

As per media reports, police were able to identify the pilot as Julius Tolson, of Laurel and Michael Garrah from Columbia as the passenger. In the Federal Aviation Administration registry, they were listed as 'other owners' of the plane. On the other hand, the registered owner of plane Derrick Early of Greenbelt said that he didn't know the cause of the crash. In his statement to international media, he said, in such accidents, an official investigation is executed and the objective is to find out what happened and why. Several people witnessed the crash. Eric Diprospero of Baltimore was heading to work in Annapolis with his colleague when the accident took place. According to him, a plane crashed in the middle of the highway and hit the ground hard. He said that there was no time to even react. Although he and another person were immediately hospitalized and there were only minor cuts and injuries.

The planed crashed into a silver sedan

The scene was swarmed with police cars and ambulances around the plane which crashed in the middle of the highway. One of the wings of the plane was crumpled several yards away, hitting a silver sedan. It cracked its front end and the doors were damaged too. Mike Yourishin, Prince George's Fire Department spokesman said, such incidences occur rarely.
