Pompeo urges Americans to learn foreign languages, cites China's expansive ambitions

US secretary of state Mike Pompeo on October 16 anunced in a live-streamed dress that US State Department was expanding its National Security Langu initiative t only in Mandarin but also in Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Farsi, and more. He said that Americans must hone ir critical-langu learning to bolster cooperation or deterrence to foreign interests in US. Americans must carry forward legacy set up by farsighted predecessors and US policymakers, US secretary of state urged.
While Trump ministration has hugely altered US foreign policies due to growing Chinese dissent in US, Pompeo cited Chinese Communist Party's expansive ambitions and Iran-backed terrorism as main reasons to enrich US foreign langus program. In an official statement recorded by US American weekly, Newsweek, Pompeo insisted that Americans enhance ir kwledge of langus to orwise eliminate covert foreign threats or prospect of a conflict.
