Reddit bans largest pro-Trump subreddit, Twitch suspends his campaign channel
Reddit and Twitch have become the latest companies to join the list of social media platforms to ban pro-Trump accounts aimed at curbing hate speech on the web.

Reddit and Twitch have become latest companies to join list of social media platforms to ban pro-Trump accounts in order to curb hate speech on internet. Reddit on June 29 anunced that it is initially banning about 2,000 subreddits, including r/_Donald, which h over 790,000 subscribers as of earlier Monday and was used by US President Donald Trump's supporter. Reddit said it banned r/_Donald because it has consistently hosted and upvoted rule-breaking content, antagonizing or communities, and its mods have refused to meet company's most basic expectations.

"All communities on Reddit must abide by our content policy in good faith. We banned r/_Donald because it has t done so, despite every opportunity. To be clear, views across political spectrum are allowed on Reddit—but all communities must work within our policies and do so in good faith, without exception. We are committed to working with you to combat b actors, abusive behaviors, and toxic communities that undermine our mission and get in way of creativity, discussions, and communities that bring us all to Reddit in first place," Reddit CEO Steve Huffman anunced in a post.

Meanwhile, Twitch, a video streaming platform, has temporarily suspended Donald Trump's official campaign channel for posting videos that were against company's rules as it promoted discrimination based on an individual's identity. company spokesperson said that channel violated its rules by rebrocasting a 2015 video from one of Donald Trump's election campaign events, where President referred to Mexican immigrants as "rapists". spokesperson also said that ar video on channel that violated company's policy was from Trump's most recent rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma on June 20.

Twitter flagged Trump's tweet
Twitter Inc has been flagging some of Donald Trump's tweets recently, which according to company were eir 'manipulative' or contained objectionable contents. Snap Inc that runs Snapchat said that it will longer promote Trump's account in its Discover category. YouTube also terminated some far-right channels from its platform over hate speech violations that included former Ku Klux Klan leer David Duke's account. Facebook, however, is only major social media company left, which hasn't taken any action regarding growing hate content on its platform. Many vertisers including Unilever, Starbucks, and Pepsico have decided to pause vertising across social media platforms in wake of m t taking any action to stop hate speech on ir platforms.
