Satirists and cartoonists in Kenya mock US elections

Kenyans continued their tradition of observing the results in the U.S. election with a satirical eye, with a mock election in the west of the country.

Kenyans continued ir tradition of observing results in U.S. election with a satirical eye, with a mock election in west of country.

Kenyan cartoonist and political commentator Patrick Gathara said current electoral upheavals in U.S. were "very comical", when country has been "at forefront of painting itself as this developed democracy."

Gathara has been drawing, writing, tweeting and blogging about U.S elections, and has painted a picture of an America holding elections that resemble some of Africa's less credible votes.

"Even ir own electoral system seems incapable of delivering a result that most or at least half of ir population can accept as credible," he claimed.

Meanwhile in western Kenya, birthplace of former President Barack Obama's far, ordinary citizens have been holding ir own mock U.S elections to actively protest against President Trump, with cardboard boxes for ballot boxes and scrap pieces of paper for ballot papers.
