The Taliban is likely to dishonour the historic peace deal signed in Qatar's Doha on February 29, a report citing compelling US intelligence said on Saturday.

Ackwledging crucial input, US President Donald Trump on Saturday also claimed that Afghan Taliban could “possibly” overrun US-backed Afghanistan government following withdrawal of troops from region.
In dition, news report citing an official claimed that US intelligence community has seen "explicit evidence" that sheds light on intentions of armed organisation. According to peace deal, Afghan Taliban promised to stop providing safe harbour to terrorists and eng in a dialogue with democratic government in Kabul, led by Ashraf Ghani, in return United States promised full withdrawal of troops within 14 months.

On Friday, interacting with media outside White House, Donald Trump asserted that countries have to care for mselves, saying, "You can only hold someone's hand for so long." When questioned if Taliban could possibly seize power from democratic Afghan government, he responded saying, "It is t supposed to happen that way but it possibly will."

statement came as Taliban launched an offensive on March 3 killing 20 Afghan army and police officials in a string of overnight attacks. Following which, US in retaliation launched an airstrike on Taliban's fighters in Helmand, international media reported citing US officials. first stalemate in agreement was witnessed on March 2, when Taliban told international media that talks would proceed until release of all 5000 prisoners.

" United States will reduce number of US military forces in Afghanistan to 8,600 and implement or commitments in US-Taliban agreement within 135 days of anuncement of this joint declaration and US-Taliban agreement and will work with its allies and Coalition to reduce proportionally number of Coalition forces in Afghanistan over an equivalent period, subject to Taliban’s fulfillment of its commitments under US-Taliban agreement," joint Afghan-US declaration re.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani speaking about peace deal said that all contents in agreement are 'conditions-based'. He ded saying that withdrawal of foreign forces from region will depend on Taliban's fulfillment of ir commitments. Taliban h even ordered its fighters to refrain from any attacks.
