COVID-19: Johnson & Johnson starts final trial of single-shot vaccine, Ivanka posts update

As J&J announced that it has begun the Phase III trial testing of its potential COVID-19 vaccine, Ivanka informed that this is the 4th Phase III trial in US.

As Johnson & Johnson anunced that it has begun Phase III trial testing of its potential coronavirus vaccine, Ivanka Trump took to Twitter to inform that this is fourth Phase III trial for a COVID-19 vaccine in America. Currently, United States has a handful of or vaccines, including Moderna, Pfizer and AstraZeneca. All four drugmaker companies are backed by Trump ministration’s COVID-19 vaccine program Operation Warp Speed.

J&J’s anuncement of beginning final study comes after US President Donald Trump tweeted link to a news report about company’s study and said that FDA ‘must move quickly’. final st of clinical trials involves testing of doses on thousands of participants to and monitor results. With US election just around corner, Trump has been touting COVID-19 vaccines to dismiss overshowing criticism on his handling of pandemic and promote his reelection. 

‘Eugh vaccine for every citizen by April 2021’

Meanwhile, last week, Trump anunced that his ministration expects to have vaccines for every American citizen by April 2021. He said that once vaccine is finally approved it will be immediately shipped out so that it can be delivered to American people as quickly as possible with hundreds of millions of doses becoming available every month.

While speaking at briefing, Trump hailed ‘brilliant’ doctors and medical professionals and said that even though world was erly waiting for a COVID-19 vaccine, golden standard for clinical trials was being followed for vaccine in US so as to ensure a safe and effective drug.
