On August 22, two tropical storms posed threat to United states as one swept through Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Hispaniola while or severely hit gulf through gap between Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula and Cuba. Reports suggest, it was predicted that tropical storms Laura and Marco were to hit coast at Louisiana. Also, a hurricane watch was issued for New Orleans metro area.
Two tropical storms vance across Caribbean
According to reports, this is first time that two storms have toger hit Gulf of Mexico since year 1959. Reports by National Hurricane Center suggests that tropical storm Marco, which swirled over Gulf of Mexico on August 22, is predicted to hit US Gulf Coast as a hurricane later this week. However, re are a lot of uncertainties as wear forecasts have varied greatly. Tate Reeves, Goverr of Mississippi said in a news conference, “We are in unprecedented times”, as he declared a state of emergency. He ded, “We are dealing with t only two potential storms in next few hours, we are also dealing with COVID-19”.

Crews in Dominican Republic evacuated dozens of families before storm began moving over Hispaniola.

tropical program coordinator for National Wear Service, Joel Cline, told AP, “A lot of people are going to be impacted by rainfall and storm surge in Gulf of Mexico”. He ded, “Since you simply don’t kw, you really need to make precautions”. University of Miami hurricane researcher Brian Mcldy said that it seems strange for such a threat to arrive in 2020. Mcldy told AP, “Of course, we have to have two simultaneously land-falling hurricanes. It's best t to ask what’s next”.
