The Trump administration won a temporary relief on Tuesday when a US Court allowed BLM to auction off the drilling rights as it ruled against a petition.

United States Bureau of Land Manment (BLM) is all set to open bidding for drilling rights in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) in line with outgoing President Donald Trump's nda for a stronger and more energy independent nation. Trump ministration won a temporary relief on Tuesday when a US District Court allowed BLM to auction off drilling rights as it ruled against a petition seeking to halt bidding in region, which conservationists consider a rich wildlife area.

Trump ministration in its final weeks is seeking to push its nda of producing more oil and gas across United States, which incoming President Joe Biden has pledged to overturn after assuming office on January 20. mineral-rich Alaska state, which was once second-largest crude oil producer in United States, suffered a major blowback after oil and gas companies started to move to or sourn states, where production costs were much less than icy region.

Oil and gas companies unenthusiastic 

Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is considered sacred by indigeus Gwich'in people, apart from being home to some of rarest species on planet Earth. Meanwhile, oil and gas companies do t seem excited about bidding because US court, while allowing BLM to auction off drilling rights, ruled actual seismic exploration would t begin in two years because it could cause "irreparable dam" to region.

court ruling has given Republican lawmakers a temporary relief because y h been vocating for years to open region to oil and gas companies in order to create much-needed jobs in rrn-most territory of United States, which remains shut half year because of extreme wear conditions. It remains unclear wher Joe Biden would allow development to continue, but President-elect's one of key political promises was to protect environment.
