Donald Trump calls off June G-7 meeting because of Coronavirus

President Donald Trump on Thursday called off G-7 meeting at Camp David scheduled for June, citing ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, White House said.

Trump spoke with G-7 leers Monday by video conference in a meeting convened by French President Emmanuel Macron. Deere said Trump, who takes on leership of group this year, would hold those virtual meetings monthly as world struggles to response to virus outbreak and its ecomic repercussions.
Deere said White House ecomic viser Larry Kudlow informed his colleagues of change to allow “each country to focus all of its resources on responding to health and ecomic challenges of COVID-19.”

anuncement comes as nations across globe have implemented stiff travel restrictions and distancing measures to try to curb spre of virus. It wasn’t immediately clear how long those restrictions would be kept in place.
Trump h originally hoped to hold summit at his private golf resort outside Miami before moving it to Camp David after a public uproar.
