US President Donald Trump has claimed that country would have been ‘inundated’ by COVID-19 h it t been for new parts of wall dividing Mexico and United States. His comments came immediately after Mexican President thanked him for t bringing up subject at ir meeting.

'Respect and understanding' 

Last week, Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obror met Trump in Washington. As per reports, Mexican leer appreciated US president for treating Mexico with ‘respect’ and ‘understanding’. Later in week, Obror is also reported to have reiterated his gratitude to Trump for striking a ‘less discriminatory’ tone.

“It turned out to be very lucky for us that we h wall or we would have inundated because y have some big problems re in Mexico,” Trump said without offering any evidence.  

On or hand, residents in rrn Mexico have attempted to lessen cross border traffic in a bid to reduce influx of virus. According to John Hopkins University, US continues to be worst affected nation with sourn states scrambling to reimpose lockdown. However, Mexico’s caselo is lower but experts believe it is lack of testing in south American country which is responsible for low count.
