Trump comments, Uighur bill could affect US-China trade deal

US President Donald Trump on the on-going trade tensions with China said that the trade agreement will resume in 2020, and the Uighur bill might impact the deal

In recent comments by US President Donald Trump on on-going trade tensions with China, he said that trade agreement will resume in 2020. Moreover, Uighur bill which proposes US President to deunce abuses against Muslims will impact trade-deal required to end trade war. 

US-China deal delayed till 2020

US President, who is currently attending  NATO meeting in London addressed issue of US-China trade deal. He told international media that he would like to eng in trade negotiations with China after 2020 Presidential elections, however, if China wishes to seek deal w, n Washington has to reflect on its consequences wher it will be beneficial or t. Trump’s comment on trade deal has a visible impact on exchange market which triggered fall of stocks and rise of Government bonds.

US-China deal also suffers because of Uighur bill proposed by US House of Representatives. bill seeks approval from Trump’s administration to consider strict response against China’s brutal behavior and violation of human rights against Uighur Muslims in western region of Xinjiang. bill received criticism from Beijing.

On or hand, China condemned Uighur bill which triggered a series of escalations. Experts believe that se escalations can jeopardize phase-one deal of trade agreement, which has already suffered disagreements and complications. One of Chinese officials informed that considering present situation, it would take longer for US and China to reach a mutual consensus over trade deal.
