Trump faces another setback after Georgia as Michigan lawmakers back Biden's win

President Trump is now facing a fresh setback as Michigan lawmakers indicated that they would not seek to undo Biden's projected win in the state.

Amid chaotic US election, President Donald Trump is w facing a fresh setback as Michigan lawmakers indicated that y would t seek to undo Democratic leer Joe Biden’s projected win in state. According to BBC, following a White House meeting, two legislators pledged to follow “rmal process” in validating vote. Michigan’s election ncy on vember 20 also recommended that election results be certified next week by state canvassers, a decision that would bless Biden’s victory. 

Trump has sought to lever power of Oval Office in an attempt to block Biden’s victory as criticism mounted that his futile efforts to subvert results could do long-lasting dam to democratic tritions. On Friday, Trump h even called a delegation of Republican lawmakers from Michigan, including state’s Senate majority leer and House speaker, in an apparent extension of his efforts to persue judges and election officials in state to set aside Biden’s vote margin of victory and grant him state’s electors.

After speaking to President, GOP h said that y were rescinding ir previous vote, however, it was too late. State Bureau of Elections said all of Michigan’s 83 counties have sent ir certified results to Lansing. Following White House meeting, two Republican lawmakers, hailing from Michigan, h also said that y have t yet been me aware of any information that would change outcome of election in state. y ded that as legislative leers, y will follow law and follow rmal process regarding Michigan’s electors.

“ candidates who win most votes win elections and Michigan's electoral votes,” two Republican lawmakers said and also ded that y used meeting with Trump to press him for more pandemic aid money for ir state.

Trump falsely claims victory 

Trump has repeatedly claimed without evidence that he is victim of widespre voter fraud. His campaign has filed a flurry of lawsuits in key states, however, election officials in both parties have said that y see evidence of serious irregularities. On Friday, President again falsely also claimed victory, declaring as an aside during a White House anuncement on drug pricing, "I won, by way, but you kw, we'll find that out.”

Republican incumbent’s meeting with Michigan legislators came days after he personally called two local canvass board officials who h refused to certify results in Wayne County. two GOP lawmakers agreed to certify results. But following Trump's call, y said y h second thoughts. Board of State Canvassers is to meet next week to certify statewide outcome and it was unclear wher Republican members of that panel would similarly balk.
