Trump receiving Remdesivir therapy for COVID-19; all about the unapproved antibody drug
US President Donald Trump is receiving Remdesivir therapy at Walter Reed Medical Centre, where he was admitted last afternoon after testing positive for COVID.

US President Donald Trump is receiving Remdesivir rapy at Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre, where he was mitted last afteron after testing positive for COVID-19. According to president's physician Sean Patrick Conley, Trump completed his first dose of Remdesivir on October 2. Conley said that Trump is doing "very well" at hospital and is t requiring any supplementary oxygen.

What is Remdesivir rapy?
Remdesivir is first anti-viral drug that showed positive results in COVID-19 patients in formal clinical trials. It was granted emergency use authorisation by US Food and Drug ministration in May this year when COVID-19 pandemic was at its peak in country and rest of world.
US FDA authorised drug for use in ults and children hospitalised for severe COVID-19. In August, FDA broened its guidelines for emergency use authorisation to include all patients with confirmed COVID-19 regardless of severity of disease. However, FDA has t approved drug as it says that Remdesivir is an investigational antiviral drug.

Trumps test positive
74-year-old US President and First Ly Melania Trump h anunced testing positive for COVID-19 earlier on Friday. While Republican leer’s has put him at a higher risk of serious complications from vel coronavirus, he h initially said re were only "mild symptoms". Before confirming his positive result on Friday, Trump h earlier Tweeted about his viser Hope Hicks testing positive for vel Coronavirus. "Hope Hicks, who has been working so hard without even taking a small break, has just tested positive for COVID 19. Terrible! First Ly and I are waiting for our test results. In meantime, we will begin our quarantine process!" said Trump in his tweet.

Days before testing positive, Trump h slammed his opponent Joe Biden at first presidential debate for "always" wearing a face mask, even if he is 200 feet away from someone. Trump took out a mask from his pocket and said, " I carry a mask and wear it when it is necessary, t like Biden, who wears it even if he is 200 feet away from people."
