President Donald Trump toured a rth Carolina plant Monday that is participating in work on a COVID-19 vaccine.

rth Carolina is a key battleground state and Trump’s visit marks his 10th trip to state during his presidency.

In a question and answer session following his remarks, Trump said he's thrilled to kick off Republican National Convention in Charlotte, rth Carolina.

"I'm really happy that we're going to be having a piece of it, and a very important piece, in rth Carolina," Trump said.

president dismissed a question on sagging poll numbers, insisting his internal polls are "very good."

He also brushed off a question about wher he brought up reports of Russian bounties on U.S. troops in Afghanistan during his phone call with President Vlimir Putin Thursday.

Trump refused to answer, saying, "We don't talk about what we discussed," but ded his conversation was "very productive."
