Joe Biden in his first address made an appeal to the supporters of Donald Trump. He said, 'this is the time to heal in America', while he pledged to be a president to represent even those who didn’t support him. He added, 'now, let’s give each other a chance'. 

In the first Vice President address, Kamala Harris thanked the people of the United States for 'turning out in record number', reports ANI. While addressing the nation, Harris said, 'To the American people, who make up our beautiful country, thank you for turning out in record numbers to make your voices heard'. She added, 'You deliver a clear message. You chose hope and unity, decency, science, and yes, truth. You chose Joe Biden as the next president of the United States of America'. 

Hundreds of cars gathered at the parking lot outside the Wilmington convention center in Delaware for a drive-in rally to celebrate Biden’s victory in the presidential race, reports AP.

The secretary general of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Jens Stoltenberg, welcomed the election of Joe Biden by calling him “a strong supporter of NATO and the transatlantic relationship”, reports AP. He further said that he looks forward to working with Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris “to further strengthen the bond between North America and Europe”. He further added, “US leadership is as important as ever in an unpredictable world”.

Donald Trump took to Twitter making yet another claim of winning the elections and getting 710,000,000 legal votes. The tweet was immediately flagged by Twitter saying that 'this claim about election fraud is disputed'.

In an unprecedented move in the United States, President Donald Trump has no plans to invite President-Elect Joe Biden to the White House in the coming days, CNN reported citing sources familiar with the matter.

 The US has a tradition of conducting a meeting between the incoming President and Outgoing Presidents in the Oval Office.

Amid the wave of mistrust generated by baseless claims of Trump and other Republicans regarding the 'fraud' in vote counting, Ellen Weintraub, with the Federal Election Commission, urged that "there really has been no evidence of fraud" in the United States Presidential election this year.

Weintraub told CNN, "There is no evidence of any kind of voter fraud. There is no evidence of illegal votes being cast. In fact, and you don't have to take my word for it, because people throughout the country, nonpartisan election experts, have come out and handled this election and how it was run."

An election worker in the Atlanta area is reportedly in hiding after receiving threats in the aftermath of a viral video that shows him crumpling and throwing away a piece of paper. The clip led to the false allegations of him tossing out a ballot, a local election official said in a press conference. As per CNN report, Richard Barron, the Fulton County, Georgia Director of Registration and Elections Barron said that the officials reviewed the video which was reportedly shot by another person in the ballot processing area of the centre and uploaded to Twitter. The officials refuted the accusations and confirmed that the worker did not discard a ballot.

A county in Michigan rectified its tally to show Trump victorious in US Election 2020 after a software glitch incorrectly gave some of his votes to Biden. Trump defeated Democratic rival in Antrim County, getting 56% of the vote, according to revised totals, as reported by the Associated Press.

Even after the error is rectified, it has failed to impact the overall result in the state of Michigan as Trump is trailing by more than 1.4 lakh votes

Eying victory, Joe Biden recently talked about his 'responsibility' as the 46th US President which would be to not differentiate between the citizens.

"We must put the anger -- and the demonization -- behind us. It's time for us to come together as a nation and heal," he said.

"My responsibility as president will be to represent the whole nation," he added.

While talking about the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, Biden pledged to put a plan of controlling the health crisis on 'day one' and decrease the "skyrocketing" cases of the highly-infectious disease. 

"I want everyone to know that on Day One, we are going to put our plan to control this virus into action, Biden said.

"That can't save any of the lives that have been lost, but it will save a lot of lives in the months ahead," he added.

Top Republican and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said there will definitely be a peaceful transfer of power if Joe Biden wins the US Election 2020. While answering questions of reporters in Kentucky about the same, McConnel responded by saying "Of course...We've had a peaceful transfer of power going back to 1792, every four years, we've moved on to a new administration."

Even though the official winner of US Election 2020 is not yet called, Joe Biden is projected to win by almost every US media network. This would pave the way for California Senator Kamala Harris to create history by becoming the first female US vice president as Donald Trump is appearing to become the first US President in last 30 years to lose his reelection bid. Answering why counting in Nevada is taking so long, government officials said that they are prioritizing accuracy over speed.  Secretary of State spokeswoman Jennifer A. Russell, in an email wrote, “We told everyone early on that results would take at least ten days”. 

As the counting continues for the US Presidential Elections 2020, Democrat candidate Joe Biden has managed to maintain a lead in four key states- Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada and Arizona. Biden’s lead in Georgia grew to over 4,000 votes with a doubling lead in Nevada. Trump has managed to lead over Biden in North Carolina.

The Pennsylvania Republican Party has asked the Supreme Court to order the election officials in Pennsylvania to separate mailed ballots that arrived on the day of elections from other mailed ballots. As per the emergency application, Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State had already ordered election officials to do so but they were not sure if all the officials had followed the given instructions.

Governor of Georgia Brian Kemp and other top Republican officials said that the secretary of state will ensure a proper counting of the ballots, reports AP. The statement came one day after President Donald Trump alleged that the election officials are trying to “steal the election” from him. He further said that the “election apparatus in Georgia is run by Democrats”.

Presidential candidate Joe Biden has increased his lead over President Donald Trump in Nevada to a total of 20,137 votes. Results released from the Democrat-heavy Clark County puts Biden at 627,104 votes and Trump at 606,967, reports AP. The county includes Las Vegas, three-quarters of Nevada’s population along with two rural counties. The state will provide an update later on Friday about the number of ballots that are yet to be counted statewide.

Exuding confidence in the 'transparent' process of vote-counting, the official further asserted that it will take 'a few more days' to declare the results and that they will count every last ballot while respecting the secrecy and transparency of the process.

An investigation has been launched into a tip-off given to the police alleging that a group planned to attack a vote-counting centre in Pennsylvania, ANI reported. Citing local channel WPVI, ANI said that a group (possibly a family) drove up from Virginia with plans to attack the Pennsylvania Convention Centre.

Addressing a press conference, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said, "With a margin that small, there will be a recount in Georgia."

While Georgia will head to a recount, Gabriel Sterling, the state's voting system implementation manager, in the same press conference announced that there were just more than 4,000 votes left to count in the state. 

Soon after there were reports that Donald Trump would not concede, Democrat Joe Biden's campaign manager Andrew Bates in a statement to FOX made it clear that the US government is capable of escorting trespassers out of the White House.

Republican Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania said he saw no evidence to support President Donald Trump's claim over 'voter fraud' and that the Democrats are trying to 'steal the election', AP reported. 

“The president’s speech last night was very disturbing to me because he made very, very serious allegations without any evidence to support it,” Toomey told “CBS This Morning.” He added: “I voted for President Trump. I endorsed President Trump. I want the next president to be the person who legitimately wins the Electoral College and I will accept whoever that is.”

Pennsylvania is a key battleground state in the presidential election, where Democrat Joe Biden overtook Donald Trump by a slim majority.

The Trump campaign released a statement inferring that they will contest the election, CNN reported. The statement comes after Democrat Joe Biden overtook Trump by a slim margin in both key states of Georgia and Pennsylvania. The campaign general counsel Matt Morgan in a statement said, "This election is not over. The false projection of Joe Biden as the winner is based on results in four states that are far from final."

Amid the row over Donald Trump's demand to 'stop the count', the Republican's daughter and advisor tweeted that every legally cast vote should be counted while every illegally cast vote should not. 

According to CNN, Trump's lead in Pennsylvania is narrowing with Biden just a little more than 18,000 votes away in the Keystone State after having trailed, by more than half a million ballots at one instance.

While Biden approaches victory, Trump’s campaign attorneys worked into the night attempting to justify the US President’s claims without proof of widespread electoral fraud.

While Biden just acquired a lead in Georgia, Trump's reelection bid became denser as he cannot find a route to 270 electoral votes without Georgia's 16 electoral votes and Pennsylvania's 20 electoral votes.

US police have made an arrest in Philadelphia for an alleged plot to attack the Pennsylvania Convention Center on November 5 (local time), where the votes are still being counted. Meanwhile, Brooklyn woman has been charged for punching New York Police Department chief in the face during protests amid US Election 2020.

While Asian stocks are mixed, the global market is 'running out of steam' with investors across the globe are waiting for the results of US Election 2020 with counting still ongoing in several states. According to CNN report, Dow futures fell 281 points, or 1%, S&P 500 futures were down 1.2%, and  Nasdaq futures fell nearly 1.4%.

In a massive development, Biden surpassed Trump in the battleground state of Georgia. The votes counted tally in the key state now shows that Biden has the lead by at least 917 votes, according to US media projections. 

According to the CNN projection, Trump is leading in Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina while Biden is leading in Nevada, Arizona.

As the Democratic Challenger Joe Biden appears to win the race to White House, the Secret Service is reportedly ramping up his security by sending reinforcements amid fears of outrage and even violence.

While states are still counting the votes leaving millions of Americans in the desperation of knowing the winner of US Election 2020, both sons of incumbent Donald Trump have attacked the Republicans for failing to back the US President in his reelection bid. A Nevada elections official said final results might not be made public until Saturday or Sunday. “Our goal is not to act fast,” but to accurately count the votes, he said to audible groaning in the room, The New York Times reported.

The U.S. Postal Service processed as many as tens of thousands of ballots sent to election offices the day after Election Day, according to data filed in federal court on Thursday. Whether they are counted depends on each state's election rules: The New York Times reported.

With Trump leading Georgia by less than 13,000 votes, the state has about 47,277 ballots left to count, said Gabriel Sterling, the state’s voting systems implementation manager, Bloomberg reported.

Democrats urged the U.S. Supreme Court to stay its hand in a pending clash over late-arriving Pennsylvania ballots, saying those votes may not matter in the presidential election, according to Bloomberg report.

In a court filing on Thursday, the Pennsylvania Democratic Party said it didn’t object to President Donald Trump’s participation in the case. But with Democrat Joe Biden potentially closing in on victory, the party urged the court to hold off acting on Trump’s request to take part.

Americans continued to voice frustration over the election process on Thursday, taking to the streets in mostly-peaceful marches in cities across the country, according to New York Times. 

President Donald Trump failed to halt ballot counting in Michigan as a state court judge ruled that the process has effectively ended. “At this point, the essence of the count is completed, and the relief is completely unavailable,” Judge Cynthia Stephens was quoted as saying by Bloomberg on Thursday.

President Donald Trump’s campaign said it’s adding a lawsuit in Nevada to a flurry of legal challenges to vote counts in battleground states as the race has tilted toward Democrat Joe Biden, Bloomberg reported

The Trump campaign early Thursday said its Nevada suit would target around 10,000 ballots it claims were cast illegally by voters who live outside the state. On Wednesday, the campaign filed lawsuits in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia, challenging various aspects of ballot counts. Meanwhile, Biden won Michigan on Wednesday and is slightly ahead in Nevada.

New election results from the Nevada Secretary of State showed Biden’s lead over Trump has grown to 11,787 votes or roughly 1 percentage point, according to Bloomberg Report.

The fresh numbers included tens of thousands of mail-in and provisional ballots counted in Clark and Washoe Counties, home to Las Vegas and Reno respectively. The result came after a day of whiplash with both county and state officials initially promising new numbers only to later advise that they would appear on Thursday.

Trump’s campaign announced a lawsuit alleging voter fraud at the Clark County Election Department shortly before latest results were announced. The lawsuit will claim that thousands of people cast ballots in the election who no longer live in the state. It follows other Trump campaign lawsuits in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia.

Expressing optimism at the result of the Presidential elections, Joe Biden's campaign manager Jen O'Malley Dillon said that 'the story of today is going to be a very positive story' for their campaign, but cautioned that as the counting continues, 'we need to allow it to get done and get done well', AP reported. 

A judge in Georgia dismissed a lawsuit by the state Republican Party and Donald Trump's campaign that asked him to ensure a coastal county was following state laws on processing absentee ballots, AP reported. Not giving an explanation behind the decision, Chatham County Superior Court Judge James Bass gave a verdict after hearing the matter for close to one hour. 

The lawsuit had raised concerns over 53 absentee ballots that poll observers said were not part of an original batch of ballots. Refuting the allegations, county election officials testified that all 53 ballots were received on time.

As Democrat Presidential candidate Joe Biden is on the cusp to win the elections requiring to clinch just one more state, election officials from Georgia, Nevada, and Arizona announced their plans to release updates on election results tonight, Bloomberg reported. The New York Times citing election officials said that while President Donald Trump was at the moment leading the race in Nevada by a narrow margin, Joe Biden was projected to win. While Nevada offers only 6 electoral votes, the state, if won by Biden, would give him the 270 electoral votes required to win the Presidential elections. 

While Democrat Joe Biden is on the brink to win the 2020 Presidential Elections, Republican Donald Trump's campaign has filed lawsuits in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Georgia, AP reported. The new filings demand better access for campaign Observers to locations where ballots are being processed and counted, the campaign said. 

While several protesters in the US flooded to the streets shouting 'Count Every Vote', several supporters of President Donald Trump stood outside a ballot-processing office in Detroit, Michigan calling for officials to 'Stop the Count'. 

While Americans are still desperately waiting for the results, according to a report by The Hill, the election officials are cautiously declaring victory after no reports of major cyber incidents on Election Day especially keeping in mind the alleged Russian interference in 2016 election. 

"After millions of Americans voted, we have no evidence any foreign adversary was capable of preventing Americans from voting or changing vote tallies," Christopher Krebs, the director of the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), was quoted by ANI as saying in a statement to the media outlet.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on November 5 during the opening remarks at a water supply project that it doesn't matter who wins the US Election 2020, because the next administration "will surrender" to the Islamic nation.

“It is not important who is elected (US) president, as the next US administration will surrender to the Iranian nation,” he said.

“Our nation would not buckle under the pressures. We can overcome the enemies and force them to resume honouring the law and regulations,” Rouhani stressed.

Biden broke Barack Obama's record of 2018 when the former US President acquired nearly 69,500,000 votes, according to the Federal Election Commission. However, the Democratic Presidential Nominee has surpassed 70,330,000 votes as of 2:38 PM local time, according to The Associated Press.

With a record number of people voting in the US Election 2020, Joe Biden is very close to acquiring the presidency if he wins in Georgia and Nevada, two states in which he is already projected leading by American media outlets. 

From Arizona to Michigan, supporters of US President Donald Trump protested over the counting of the vote while the US media networked have not yet called the winner in US Election 2020. "Stop the count!" the Trump supporters chanted in Detroit. "Stop the steal!" they said in vote-counting centres in Phoenix.

As per Associated Press projection, Biden is narrowly leading the race with 264 electoral votes and Trump is trailing at 214 votes that have also prompted him to sow doubts on the integrity of the election.  With 60 electoral votes still to be allocated, the paths of victory still remain uncertain with winner requiring 270 votes. French bulldog called Wilbur Beast won his mayoral race in a Kentucky town on November 3. The Rabbit Hash Historical Society named Wilbur Beast the new mayor of Rabbit Hash, Ky., and said that he received 13,143 votes, which is greater than any other previous mayoral winner. 

Meanwhile, #TrumpIsALaughingStock has begun to trend on Twitter as Trump continues his rhetoric of hate and misconduct in the US Election 2020.  From calls to stop the counting of the votes to moving to Supreme Court, Biden supporters have been mocking Trump for not being able to accept the upcoming defeat. 

Irked by the outcome of the US Election 2020 till now, US President Donald Trump has accused the authorities of ‘secretly dumping ballots’ and falsely claimed victory in Michigan. However, this claim without any proof has been labelled by Twitter. This is also the second time the microblogging website has restricted Trump's tweet amid the elections.

In stark contrast to Trump’s rhetoric of hate and misconduct, Biden has been addressing the Americans by not only denying to claim victory before the official announcement but trying to bring the highly-divisive United States together. Reiterating that “we are not enemies”, the Democratic challenger who has already served as the vice president in the former US President Barack Obama administration, acknowledged the “deep and hard” opposing views in the nation. However, he called for US citizens to come together in a bid to make progress in the nation. 
 

"I know how deep and hard the opposing views are in our country on so many things," Biden said. "But I also know this as well: to make progress we have to stop treating our opponents as enemies. We are not enemies. What brings us together as Americans is so much stronger than anything that can tear us apart."

Even as Trump campaign files lawsuit against three states and has claimed false victory, the Supreme Court might not have the final say in the results of US Election 2020. As per reports, the Election experts have expressed doubt if the bid by Trump will be entertained by the nation's Apex Court and allow the counting of votes to be stopped. 

Meanwhile, in the battleground state of Georgia, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's office told CNN that at least 90,735 ballots are still outstanding. A news conference is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. ET at the Georgia State Capitol. Meanwhile. in Pennsylvania, 71% mail-in ballots have been counted.

Biden’s victory in Michigan pushes him to 264 Electoral College votes, six short of the 270 needed to win the White House. Trump is at 214 electoral votes. Nevada, which has six electoral votes, is among the states Democrat Hillary Clinton won in 2016 that hasn’t yet been called.

The Trump campaign said it filed lawsuits on Wednesday in Pennsylvania and Michigan, laying the groundwork for contesting the outcome in undecided battleground states that could determine whether President Donald Trump gets another four years in the White House.

Suits in both states are demanding better access for campaign observers to locations where ballots are being processed and counted, the campaign said. The campaign also is seeking to intervene in a Pennsylvania case at the Supreme Court that deals with whether ballots received up to three days after the election can be counted, deputy campaign manager Justin Clark said.

The campaign said it is calling for a temporary halt in the counting in both states until it is given “meaningful” access in numerous locations and allowed to review ballots that already have been opened and processed. Trump is running slightly behind Democratic nominee Joe Biden in Michigan. The campaign also said it would ask for a recount in Wisconsin.

Democrat candidate Ritchie Torres becomes the first openly gay black man to be elected to Congress. Torres, 32, wins the election from New York's 15th Congressional District, defeating Republican candidate Patrick Delices. 

Here's the state of the election as of 5am EST, November 4 morning. Control of the White House and Senate are still close fights, with Democrats expected to retain their majority in the House.

The police department informed that protesters have blocked off streets in downtown Seattle and at least eight arrests have been made. "Eight arrests this evening for pedestrian interference, obstruction, assault on an officer, reckless driving, and criminal mischief," the police statement said. Further, the police have warned protesters not to enter an adjacent freeway. 

The US vice-presidential nominee for the democratic party senator Kamala Harris’ uncle highlighted the “strong relationship” that the US and India share with each other, adding, that the two countries’ ties will not be affected in “ any significant manner” by the results of the elections.  Whether it was US President Donald Trump that assumed the office for US presidency or Democratic nominee Joe Biden, India’s relations with the US will remain unaltered, Gopalan Balachandran, the ex-Director, Institute of Defence Studies and Analyses told ANI.

As AP calls Joe Biden wins in Maine (4 electoral votes), he is now leading with 238-2013.

As Biden leads, Donald said while addressing Americans, "This is a fraud on the American public. This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election." 

In the race to the White House, Democratic Challenger Joe Biden is leading the close fight with US President Donald Trump with 225-213 electoral seats. Arizona has become the first state to flip from 2016 as per Associated Press projection.

"We believe we are on track to win this election," Biden said while addressing the nation from his home city of Wilmington, Delaware, adding: "It ain't over until every vote is counted.

While US networks call for Donald Trump to win the hotly contested Ohio (18 electoral votes), the Associated Press calls Hawaii (4 electoral seats) and Minnesota (10 electoral votes) for Joe Biden. 

After a single voting machine jammed for just minutes on the morning of Election day, misleading posts on Facebook and Twitter made Pennsylvania the hotspot for misinformation. The social media struggled to take down false posts about polling locations in Scranton, Philadelphia and among other areas to minimize the spread of misinformation. 'Pennsylvania' even started trending on the micro-blogging website with Americans exchanging all sorts of speculations online.

As the race for White House continues to grip millions of Americans, a Trump campaign official told Fox News earlier this evening they are 'cautiously optimistic' about the US Election 2020. Meanwhile, another White House official reportedly said they undoubtedly believe that Trump will emerge victorious as another expressed some 'nervous optimism'.

Fox news projects Biden wins Arizona, the key battleground state with 11 electoral votes. However, this win would dramatically narrow down Trump's reelection this year. Currently, as per the Associated Press projection, Biden is leading the race to the White House with 209 electoral seats as Arizona becomes the first state that Trump won in 2016, but lost to Biden in Us Election 2020.

Meanwhile, Fox News projects that trump won in Florida with 29 electoral seats.

Joe Biden has now won in Oregon (7 electoral votes), California (55 electoral votes), and New Hampshire (4 electoral votes), Washington (12 electoral votes) and is leading the US Election 2020 with 209 electoral seats as Trump is at 118 and won in Idaho (4 electoral votes), and Utah (6 electoral votes).

According to Edison polls, Trump appears to have got less support from white men and older people in Georgia and Virginia, states that are essential bases for Republicans. Currently, Biden is leading with 135 electoral college seats and Trump is trailing with 108, as per the Associated Press projection. 

As per CNN exit polls, Trump has picked up support from Latinos in several key battleground states than he won in 2016. The Republican leader captured two in five votes among the group which is nearly 35% up from that in 2016. 

Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has backed the QAnon conspiracy theory, won Georgia’s open 14th Congressional District, the Associated Press projected. She has been reportedly criticised for racist comments and violent rhetoric but secured a primary victory in the district. Trump has called her a “future Republican star.”

As more and more polls are closing in, it should be noted that Donald Trump will fail to secure a second term if he does not win in Ohio. As per BBC report, Trump needs both Ohio and North Carolina in his column to get enough electoral college support, but Biden has been projected with modest leads in both states with more than half of all voters reported.

Joe Biden is leading with 131 electoral college seats while Donald Trump is at 108, according to the Associated Press.

On Election day in the United States, apart from Donald Trump and Joe Biden contesting for president, 35 US Senate seats are up for grabs because entire House of Representatives and one-third of the seats in the upper house are decided by voters. Of the 35 seats decided by the voters, currently, Republicans are holding 23 and 12 are Democratic-held seats.

The Associated Press has called 19 out of 35 seats that shows 11 won by Republicans and 8 by Democrats. Either party should have 51 seats to acquire a majority.

Donald Trump is now at 98 electoral seats while Joe Biden is leading with 131, as per AP.

United Kingdom citizens are anxious over the US presidential election's effect on the potential trade agreement between London and Washington. According to the YouGov polling company, the majority of UK people feel that the Trump-Biden faceoff would affect bilateral ties between the two countries as Britain prepares to exit the European Union. Meanwhile, the UK is involved in negotiating separate trade deals with other countries, including the United States.

The new YouGov data shows that 6 in 10 i.e. 59 percent of British people believe the US election will have either a great impact or fair amount of impact on any potential deal, the polling company said on Tuesday.

Vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris tweeted in support of the "historic turnout" in California on Tuesday.

According to the US Secretary of State’s office, California had already logged one million votes as of two weeks ago — 13 times the 72,000 ballots cast at the same time in 2016. Many in the United States have voted early and by mail in 2020 amidst the coronavirus pandemic.

Homeland Security acting chief Chad Wolf on Tuesday, November 3 confirmed that no foreign actor has succeeded in compromising or affecting votes cast in the US presidential election 2020. While briefing the press on the morning of election day, Wolf reiterated that the US election infrastructure was resilient and added that there were no indications of any foreign actor affecting the votes.

Earlier, US officials had accused Iran of being behind emails sent to Democratic voters as part of an intimidation effort. US agencies had also claimed that hackers from Russia had broken into two government networks. Meanwhile, officials in Moscow and Tehran have both denied the claims. Read more here

Trump made a stopped by at his campaign headquarter in Arlington, Virginia and predicted a "great night" for himself. As per CBS News, Trump claimed he's not thinking about an acceptance or concession speech yet.

As the much-awaited election day dawned in the United States, Donald Trump launched a sharp attack on his Democratic rival, Joe Biden, as the latter went to church before heading to Philadelphia and Scranton for his final campaign stops. Democratic lawmaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appealed to Puerto Rico-origin US citizens to vote on Election Day. The US territory is finding itself in the crosshairs of a high-stakes White House race even though Puerto Ricans on the island cannot vote in presidential elections despite being US citizens since 1917. 

Campaigners know this but hope that the people on the island will push friends and families on the US mainland to vote for them in a strategy that capitalises on the close ties Puerto Ricans share. The region is considered to have one of the largest concentrations of people on the US mainland.

Earlier in September, Trump announced releasing $13 billion in funds to Puerto Rico for repairing years old damage caused by Hurricane Maria. During a White House press conference, Trump said, "I’m the best thing that ever happened to Puerto Rico." 

While for most of his time in the White House, Trump slammed Puerto Rican officials as corrupt and inept, he pledged to restore the economy of the area just weeks ahead of Election Day. As per reports, in September 2017, Hurricane Maria wiped out important infrastructure on the island of Puerto Rico, including a power grid which resulted in the longest blackout in US history. Former US President Barack Obama retweeted Joe Biden's appeal for votes and endorsed his former running mate's candidature for next the US President. Obama said Biden made him a "better president" and encouraged people to place their trust in Team Biden-Harris to build the country back better.

Earlier in the day, Obama also posted a video of him holding video calls with a few voters and the tweet has already hit over one million views. In the video, the former US President called 2020 "the most important election" in his lifetime. 

US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has expressed absolute certainty that Democrats will "solidly hold" onto their House majority.

The California Representative, during an Election Day conference call with reporters, said the "election is about nothing less than taking back the soul of America." Reiterating the Biden campaign pitch, Pelosi said the election will determine whether the people of the United States will follow the voices of fear or choose hope.

Authorities are investigating vandalism at a Jewish cemetery that left several headstones spray-painted with "TRUMP" and "MAGA" ahead of US President Donald Trump's final campaign rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan. 

As per Associated Press reports, the vandalism appeared to be "relatively new" and the defaced gravestones were discovered hours before Trump visited Grand Rapids late Monday night (local time) in his final campaign rally before Election Day. Police said no evidence was left at the scene.

Micro-blogging website Twitter has outlined its course of action to tackle posts claiming early victory in the US elections. In a blog post by the website, it said that it will label all tweets that falsely claim victory for any candidate prior to the result announcement. Twitter has also stated that it will remove all tweets 'that encourage violence or call for people to interfere with election results or the smooth operation of polling places'.

 According to a report by The Hill, the US National Security Integration Centre (NSIC) in an internal email to its staff warned about possible unrest post-election day. The internal email reportedly highlighted a social media message that read, "If you want to throw down come to Washington DC on Nov 4th."

Speaking to Fox News, McEnany said, "Our campaign believes that tonight will be a landslide. In a rare statement about ongoing presidential elections in the US, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas reportedly said on November 3 that the European nation wishes " a fair, good and above all, a peaceful election day." He added, "It is a landmark vote that will also determine the direction and the role of the US in the world" while noting that Germany "wants new deal" in US-Germany partnership.

The chances of Trump being re-elected increased sharply overnight in the online betting markets as Americans head to the polls on November 3, according to Betfair Exchange. Republican leader's odds of winning the election improved to 39% from 35% on the UK-based platform, while Joe Biden's chances degraded from 65% to 61%. Betfair has betted  £1 million on Biden to beat Trump.

In the year that has already witnessed a series of unrests due to demonstrations on social issues, climate crisis and COVID-19 pandemic, the world is watching US Election 2020 with more interest than usual. For the four years of Trump in the White House, all nations have reacted differently to his presidency. The Republican leader dealt with the international community in a dramatically different way from the traditional approaches.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton managed to get more popular votes overall, which is the number of people who voted for her across the country, however, she lost because, in key swing states like Florida, which has more electors than some of the others, people voted for Trump.

While nearly 100 million Americans turned up for early voting, the counting procedures for each state differs amid ongoing legal battles amid COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, it is harder than usual for experts to predict the winner of US Election 2020.  Voters have started lining up in their respective stations without having knowledge about two things, first, if Trump will be reelected or Biden will win and secondly, when will the results be announced.

Different states will stop voting at different times and the first polls will close on the East Coast at 19:00 local time (00:00 GMT). The rigorous voting in the United States is followed by a running total of votes as they are reported in each state.  

Even though the full count is never completed on the Election night, it is enough to confirm a winner by night. Each state will respectively “called” by American media outlets when they believe that a candidate has acquired unattainable lead. However, when most but not all votes are counted, the winner is only projected and is not the final result. 

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Election day has finally kickstarted in several East Coast states keeping in mind the precautionary measures for in-person voters. Following precautions are in place at Charlotte, North Carolina or one of the "swing" states:

In a bid to prevent the misinformation from going viral on social media, Twitter and Facebook have started labelling early victory posts along with other baseless claims about mail-in voting including one by US President Donald Trump. 

As the rallies end before US Election 2020, Donald Trump and Joe Biden have started posting tweets up until the last minute. While US President posted a video of him dancing on campaign rallies with background music of YMCA by the Village People, Biden declared, "Let's bring this home" and reiterated that he would govern both Democrats and Republicans.

As Election Day begins in the United States, ‘3rd November’ has started trending on the microblogging website, Twitter. Marking the end of chaotic election campaigns amid the COVID-19 pandemic, economic crisis and national security, both Donald Trump and Joe Biden have ceded the stage to voters for November 3 verdict. While some internet users are simply urging everyone to vote, other Americans are already eager to know the results. 

Joe Biden wins in the tiny town of Dixville Notch in New Hampshire in a sweep by getting all five votes while Trump got none. The ballots in the town with 12 residents at US-Canada border, were cast in the minutes after polls opened at midnight with its tradition of voters gathering in ‘Ballot Room’ at a resort.

Meanwhile, a nearby town Millsfield also opened polls at midnight where Donald Trump won by 16-5 lead over Biden. 

With the familiar song, the Village People’s YMCA, Trump ended his final rally for US Election 2020. Trump was joined briefly by his running mate Mike Pence to bid farewell to their supporters.

Rapper Lil Pump also joined the US President briefly on stage at the final rally in Michigan. "MAGA [Make America Great Again] 20,20,20 don't forget that!" the rapper with real name Gazzy Garcia told the cheering crowd.

Irrespective of the outcome, the US Election 2020 has already become historic with more than 98.8 million ballots already submitted through in-person early voting and by mail. The early casting has reached 70% of the total voter turnout in 2016 presidential election when Trump won against Hillary Clinton. States were holding early voting even by during the afternoon of November 2 and as per non-partisan, US Elections Project, 35.7 million people had voted in person and 63 million had done the same by mail.
