Rescue efforts continued in Honduras after flooding caused by Hurricane Eta led to devastation across Central America.

Footage released by the U.S. Army's Joint Task Force-Bravo shows a child being airlifted from a heavily flooded area.

The task force posted the footage on social media on Friday, saying they had saved 11 people, and were working with the Honduran government to continue rescue efforts.

Hurricane Eta, which made landfall on Tuesday afternoon, has been slowly moving across Central America.

In Honduras it pushed rivers over their banks, flooding neighbourhoods and forcing people onto their rooftops, where they awaited rescue.

So far across Central America the hurricane is thought to have caused more than a hundred deaths, many in Guatemala after torrential rains caused landslides.

Governments in several countries continued to carry out rescue and recovery efforts.
