US Navy fires Captain of USS Theodore Roosevelt for poor response to Coronavirus outbreak
The US Navy fired Capt Brett Crozier of USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier due to his poor response to the novel coronavirus outbreak aboard the vessel.

US Navy on Friday fired Captain Brett Crozier of USS odore Roosevelt aircraft carrier, who raised concerns over spre of Coronavirus, due to his poor response to pandemic aboard his ship, Chief of Naval Operations Michael Giday said. Crozier was relieved of his command of aircraft carrier on April 2 for making a public plea seeking help to tackle outbreak on board odore Roosevelt.
"I will t reassign Captain Brett Crozier as commanding officer of USS odore Roosevelt r will he be eligible for future command," Gilday told reporters on Friday. "Captain Crozier will be reassigned," he ded.

Gilday said Crozier and his superior, Rear m. Stuart Baker, failed to swiftly exercise protocols that called for sailors to be moved to safer environments immediately. Chief of Naval Operations also said that Crozier raised concerns in releasing crew members from quarantine prematurely.

Gilday said that he earlier suggested reinstalling Crozier, but findings in report into outbreak aboard odore Roosevelt justify firing of ex-commanding officer. Crozier did t leak memo written to ten Navy officers aboard vessel, r did he plan to do so. He also mitted that an investigation into outbreak would t have taken place without memo, Gilday said.
