US Military officials are searching for a missing F-35 fighter jet after a mishap caused its pilot to eject. The incident occurred on Sunday 17th September 23.
About the missing F35 fighter jet of the US military
Joint base Charleston said on Facebook that the aircraft missing was an F-35 Lightning II fighter aircraft. It belonged to the Marine Corps air station, Beaufort. The pilot ejected safely and is being treated at a local medical centre.
Emergency deployed teams have been deployed to find the jet. Joint base Charleston said in a statement on Facebook that based on the fighter jet's last known position and in coordination with the FAA they are focusing their attention north of JB Charleston, around Lake Moultrie, and Lake Marion. According to the American news channel FOX News, the public is asked to cooperate with both military and civilian authorities as the effort continues.
They have said that if any person receives any information about the missing jet's whereabouts urge the people to contact JB Charleston Base defence operations centre at 843-963-3400. The authorities are actively investigating the situation. The Fox News Digital tried reaching out to Charles Base Charleston.
