US Supreme Court agrees to hear Trump's appeal to shield financial records

The United States Supreme Court, on Dec 13, decided to take up President Donald Trump’s appeal against demands of his financial records including tax returns.

United States Supreme Court has decided to take up President Donald Trump’s appeal against demands of his financial records me by House of Representatives committees and a New York prosecutor. Though demands are t part of impeachment proceedings, Democrats-led committee wants Trump’s bank records, tax returns or or materials to probe corruption or foreign meddling in election process.

“We are pleased that Supreme Court granted review of President’s three pending cases. se cases raise significant constitutional issues. We look forward to presenting our written and oral arguments,” said Jay Sekulow, legal counsel to President.

Cyrus Vance, a Democrat and Manhattan District Attorney, is looking into finances of Trump Organization and his family real estate business for a criminal investigation. Vance h sought tax returns of US President for investigation but after court agreed to hear Trump’s appeal, it is almost final that it can’t be retrieved before June even if Court rules against his appeal.

Pelosi reacts

House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued this statement after top court agreed to hear cases related to oversight of President’s financial records, including Mazars and Deutsche Bank cases.

“Unfortunately, American people will w have to wait several more months for final rulings.  We are confident that Supreme Court, highest court in land, will uphold Constitution, rulings of lower courts and ensure that Congressional oversight can proceed,” said Pelosi.

“ Congress will continue to conduct oversight For People, upholding separation of powers that is genius of our Constitution,” she ded.

Meanwhile, Trump took to Twitter to cry foul against entire impeachment process, after House of Representatives approved two charges against him, saying it was t fair for him to get impeached when he did “absolutely thing wrong”. “ Rical Left, Do thing Democrats have become Party of Hate. y are so b for our Country!” he tweeted.
