US: Trump administration puts tough new asylum rule into effect
The US Supreme Court ordered a new rule which reverses decades of US policy. It prevents most Central American migrants from seeking asylum in the country.

US Supreme Court ordered a new rule on September 11 that prevents most Central American migrants from seeking asylum in country. new Trump ministration rule denies asylum nearly to all migrants arriving at sourn border who are t from Mexico. Many migrants arriving are mostly fleeing from violence or poverty and upon arrival, y w have to pass an interview to seek asylum in States, which most do. But w one might fail interview if y have t sought asylum in ar country before entering US.

It is going to affect mainly Hondurans and Guatemalans as y account for most people arrested or stopped at border.

A temporary step
American Civil Liberties Union lawyer, Lee Gelernt claimed that this policy is just a temporary step as lives of thousands of families are at stake. re are thousands of people who are waiting at border crossing to claim asylum in US. acting US Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan also said that 45,000 people have been turned back to Mexico to wait out ir asylum claims.

“Migrants should be seeking help and asylum from first country y come in contact with. y shouldn’t be paying cartels thousands of dollars and risking ir lives to take a 1,000-mile journey across several countries to get help. We want m to get help and seek asylum in first country y get to.”
Justice Department spokesperson Alexei Woltornist said ncy was “pleased that Supreme Court intervened in this case. This action will assist ministration in its objectives to bring order to crisis at sourn border, close loopholes in our immigration system, and discour frivolous claims.”
