US Vice-Presidential Debate 2020: Pence and Harris clash over approach on climate change
Touching upon the raging issue of climate change, Susan Page, the moderator of vice-presidential debate asked Harris and Pence were asked about their approach.

Touching upon raging issue of climate change, Susan P, moderator of vice-presidential debate on October 8 asked California Senator Kamala Harris and incumbent Mike Pence about role of science in issue. While Harris claimed that if Joe Biden wins, US will reenter 2015 Paris Accord that has been abandoned by Donald Trump ministration, Pence said air and land in United States are “cleaner than any time ever recorded”. Mike Pence touted steps taken by US President in conservation of environment and mentioned Outdoors Act but Harris lashed out on current ministration for denying science.
Mike Pence said, “w with regard to climate change, climate is changing, but issue is what’s cause and what do we do about it? President Trump has me it clear that we’re going to continue to listen to science. w Joe Biden and Kamala Harris would put us back in Paris Climate Accord.”
According to Pence, Green New Deal promoted by Democrats to battle climate crisis would “crush American energy”, would furr increase cost of energy for families in country and “literally would crush American jobs”. US Vice President also said that Republican ministration “reduced CO2 more than countries” that are still in part of Paris Climate Accord.

Harris-Pence also talked about forest wildfires and hurricanes that threaten US coasts. While Trump has a history of stirring controversy by questioning science on climate crisis, Pence said “It will start getting cooler” and he went on to d that “I don’t think science kws, actually”. California Senator also attacked Trump-Pence ministration for ir “pattern” of dismissing science.

Kamala Harris rebutted
Posing a strong rebuttal to Pence’s remarks, Harris said that Joe Biden has plan to create more jobs and some of m will be about clean and renewable energy. Senator said that “Joe believes in science” but Trump ministration has a “pattern” of denying conclusions me by experts.

Kamala Harris said, “Do you kw, this ministration took word science off website, and n took phrase climate change off website? We have seen a pattern with this ministration, which is y don’t believe in science.”
“And Joe’s plan is about saying we’re going to deal with it, but we’re also going to create jobs. Donald Trump, when asked about wildfires in California, and question was, science is telling us this… You kw what Donald Trump said? Science doesn’t kw,” she ded.
