The 'camel-bite' incident

Caspar the camel is kept as an attraction at the Tiger Truck Stop Petting Zoo, in Louisiana.

Iberville Parish Sheriff's office documents, reportedly, on September 23 pinned the blame on a Florida duo Gloria and Edmond Lancaster of tossing treats for their unshackled dog into Caspar the camel's pound at Tiger Truck Stop. The dog had run into the enclosure, and the couple had crawled underneath the wire fence to retrieve it disregarding the 'No Trespassing' signs, instead of asking for help from the truck stop restaurant.

The duo apparently then told deputies that camel had ambushed the dog but the sheriff's office said that duo had provoked the animal by entering its enclosure. The animal defended itself in the only way it could, by sitting on Gloria. Gloria later revealed to officers that she had to bite the camel to release herself from under it.

The truck stop manager Pamela Bossier was baffled by the whole situation.
