A woman from Brecksville in the US, Meredith Black, found a seven-foot-long boa constrictor slithering on the lawn in front of her house on September 16. Black reported that the snake was so large and heavy that it left a visible path near homes and flattened the grass as well. She immediately called for assistance from the Brecksville Police and Brecksville Fire Department, who were able to keep the snake restrained. Animal control officers were also reportedly present at the location. The snake was so huge that they needed a large barrel to wrangle the snake.

Reptile rescued

The boa constrictor was reportedly bought to Herps Alive, a non-profit reptile rescue in South Euclid. The executive director and founder of the NGO allegedly claimed that the snake weighed about 10kgs and was between six to ten years and was healthy. It is suspected by the authorities that the snake might have been either dumped in a nearby park by an owner who no longer wished to take care of the snake or wasn't able to take care of the snake. The non-profit also posted a picture on their Facebook page. It is also reported that the NGO will eventually place the boa constrictor up for adoption as the snake seemed to be healthy and friendly toward people.

Similar incident

A few days ago a Central Coast nurse found a huge diamond python in her kitchen. The snake reportedly slithered into her living room and climbed to the kitchen bench using a bar stool. According to the Reptile Park supervisor who was reportedly called in to catch the snake claimed that the snake was in search of food. He claimed that the diamond pythons are a species that can tolerate cooler weather and are typically fed on bird and small mammals. Another similar case took place in an Airbnb in Texas where a renter captured a video of an unexpected snake inside the house. The renter claimed that the snake was four foot long and was found inside the toilet in the Houston area. Animal control was reportedly summoned to remove the snake although the origin of the reptile was unknown.
