A former government contractor who famously gave President Trump's motorce a one-finger salute won a local election on vember 05. Juli Briskman, who ran as a Democrat, defeated Republican Suzanne Volpe for Loudon County Board of Supervisors, Algonkian District. 52-year-old shot fame back in 2017 after a photographer captured her giving finger to President Trump after which she even lost her job as a marketing analyst for federal contractor Akima LLC.

She has campaigned on issues including funding local schools and expanding green in community which allowed her to take a stand against Trump policies. Virginia Democrats have swept in legislative and local elections. This marks third election in a row that Virginia Democrats have me significant gains since President Trump was elected.
'Upset by Trump ministration'
Back in 2017, Briskman a longtime resident of country was cycling past president's motorce while it escorting United States President. It was n when she was caught flipping off line of SUVs. She told an international media outlet that she was upset by Trump's ministration plan to end immigration policy Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) as well as his response to disaster in Puerto Rico during Hurricane Maria. She soon h to resign from her job as she was told that she violated company's social media policy on obscenity. She, however, filed a lawsuit against company alleging that y were afraid that Trump ministration would retaliate against m and end its contracts because of photo. It was after getting fired she decided to run as a Supervisor for Algonkian District.
