White House 'confident' that Senate will exonerate Trump after impeachment
As the House of Representatives voted to impeach the United States President Donald Trump, White House said that the Republican-led Senate will exonerate him.

White House t only called entire impeachment process 'shameful' but is also 'confident' that Senate will 'restore regular order, fairness'. On December 18, US House voted 230 to 197 to impeach Trump of 'abuse of power' and 229 to 198 for second charge of 'obstruction of Congress'. This me him only third President to be impeached from office after Andrew Johnson in 1868 and Bill Clinton in 1998.

“Today marks culmination in House of one of most shameful political episodes in history of our nation. Without receiving a single Republican vote, and without providing any proof of wrongdoing, Democrats pushed illegitimate articles of impeachment against president through House of Representatives,” White House spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said in a statement.
