Wisconsin reports 947 new COVID-19 cases, 13 more deaths

Wisconsin confirmed 13 new COVID-19 deaths on Saturday, bringing the statewide death toll to 947.

The latest figures from the state Department of Health Services show there were 1,062 newly reported cases on Saturday, bringing the state’s total to more than 54,000.

On Saturday, the seven-day average of new cases was 876.

Nearly 950,000 people have been tested for the coronavirus, including 14,858 reported Saturday.

The number of people who have ever been hospitalized in the state was 4,681 on Saturday, up 44 from Friday.

For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia.
