A veteran has left a handwritten note at a barbershop that has resulted in an overwhelming response who was looking for someone to spend the Veterans Day.

A veteran has left a handwritten note at a barbershop that has resulted in an overwhelming response. The Lyndon Dale Flowers of Lewiston, Maine was looking for someone to spend the Veterans Day as it approached. The veteran said he was not going to have anyone available to go to lunch with on Veterans Day. Flowers left a handwritten note at Judy and Heather’s Barbershop requesting someone to share a meal with him during the evening of Veterans Day. The note read, "Would someone like to take a local disabled veteran to dinner on Veterans Day? No car. My treat".

Post goes viral on Facebook

He also included his contact number printed at the bottom. After he left the note, Heather Jeselskis Swift, of Judy and Heather's captured a picture of it and posted it on Facebook. The post immediately went viral and Flowers got huge support from across the country. It earned him a lunch date from a fellow Maine resident. A resident Sandy Washer said when he was sifting through his Facebook, he came across a pop-up and added that he can't take him to the dinner but can take him to lunch. Washer whose father served in the army for 20 years drove 40 minutes down from Norway, Maine with her family to take Flowers out for lunch. The heartwarming gesture warmed the veteran's heart and recalled him that are people who still care for him.

Netizens requested his address on Facebook for those who were not able to take the veteran for a meal, so that they could send him cards. Several others called and messaged the veteran to wish him well. A woman wrote on Facebook that it would be her honour if she could take the veteran for a meal and also added that she would like to invite him to Thanksgiving if he is willing to do so. Another user wrote, " just texted him. Not sure if I should call, but I’m totally taking this guy out!".
