Japan: A harrowing incident unfolded today at Tokyo Haneda Airport as a massive fire engulfed an aircraft on the runway. Dramatic footage aired by NHK revealed the intensity of the blaze, with flames visibly emanating from the windows of the plane.
The videos further showed fire crews working to put out the fire. It wasn’t immediately clear what had happened or if there were injuries.
Initial reports suggest a potential collision with a Coast Guard aircraft as the cause of the fire, according to Nippon TV. The aircraft, identified as Japan Airlines' flight JAL 516, originated from Shin-Chitose airport in Hokkaido and was carrying over 300 passengers.
According to reports, all passengers onboard have been evacuated.
