VIRAL: Sikh man dresses up as Santa Claus, distributes gifts & does Bhangra to spread Christmas joy

It's time for the gifts under the tree, the lights in the windows, the cards in the mail, Christman feast with family and friends, snow in the yard, stockings hanging in the living room, and shouts of "Merry Christmas" to those who pass us in the streets.

It's that time of year again. December has come and with it all joys of Christmas. It's time for  gifts under tree, lights in windows, cards in mail, Christman feast with family and friends, sw in yard, stockings hanging in living room, and shouts of "Merry Christmas" to those who pass us in streets.

Amid  joy and happiness, a video of a Sikh man dressed as Santa Claus is winning hearts on social media.  video, which features a Punjabi man suited up as Santa Claus, distributing sweets on sw-covered streets of Cana, has gone viral again after it was shared by Facebook p Sikh Channel.

With several shares and thousand views, viral clip has left many praising man for “Breaking Barriers”. In 6.11-minute video, man dressed up as Santa can be seen interacting with people, distributing gifts and even doing Bhangra.

legend of Santa Claus can be traced back hundreds of years to a monk named St. Nicholas. It is believed that Nicholas was born sometime around 280 A.D. in Patara, near Myra in modern-day Turkey. Much mired for his piety and kindness, St. Nicholas became subject of many legends. It is said that he gave away all of his inherited wealth and travelled countryside helping poor and sick.

Over course of many years, Nicholas’s popularity spre and he became kwn as protector of children and sailors. His feast day is celebrated on anniversary of his death, December 6. By Renaissance, St. Nicholas was most popular saint in Europe.
