Relatives and friends of coronavirus victims gathered in Buenos Aires to pay homage to their loved-ones and protest against the government's management of the pandemic on Saturday.

Relatives and friends of coronavirus victims gathered in Buenos Aires to pay homage to their loved-ones and protest against the government's management of the pandemic on Saturday.

Stones bearing the names of some of more than 112,000 people who died due to COVID-19 in Argentina were placed at the Plaza de Mayo, in front of the Government House.

Protesters expressed their disapproval of President Alberto Fernandez's handling of the pandemic.

At the end of March 2020, Argentina imposed one of the world's longest and strictest lockdowns.

A reported 112,444 people have died of COVID-19 in Argentina since the beginning of the pandemic.
