Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg divulged his health secrets and eating habits on his new social media platform Threads this week, revealing that he consumes about 4,000 calories a day. Zuckerberg, who holds a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, made the revelation while responding to a tweet by fast food giant McDonald's.

Earlier on Tuesday, the food chain took to Threads and asked users to drop in their orders. "Y'all want anything from McDonald's," it asked, to which the billionaire provided a lengthy list of snacks. "20 nuggets, a quarter pounder, large fries, Oreo McFlurry, apple pie, and maybe some side cheeseburgers for later?" he wrote.

This caught the eye of UFC Fighter Mike Davis, who told the 39-year-old to ditch the dream. "You’re in camp! No Mcdonalds," Davis joked. But Zuckerberg remained adamant, insisting that the order will not exceed his daily calorie intake. “Not cutting weight so I need ~4000 calories a day to offset all the activity. And it’s so delicious…” he replied.

Threads users react to Zuckerberg's post

Zuckerberg's post has garnered over 8,000 likes and several comments. "You already know the ice cream machine isn’t working Zuck," one user quipped. "Did you get indicted too? That sounds like a last meal!" joked another, referring to the recent indictment of former US President Donald Trump in the Jan 6 case. "College diet for life!" said a third user.

The cheeky exchange occurred on Threads, which Meta launched earlier in July. The platform shot to fame and emerged as a tough rival to Elon Musk-owned Twitter. Soon after the application's debut, Zuckerberg announced in elation that 10 million users had already set up their accounts on the platform within the first seven hours of going live. About a week later, the platform gained another 100 million users, according to American news outlet Today.
