WHO recommends breastfeeding, says its benefits outweigh risks of COVID-19 transmission
WHO says that it is safe for new mothers to breastfeed their babies as it appears that the COVID-19 virus can not be transmitted through breastfeeding.

Amidst coronavirus pandemic, World Health Organization has anunced that it is safe for mors to breastfeed ir babies as it appears that COVID-19 virus can t be transmitted through breastfeeding. According to reports, WHO on June 12 claimed that breastfeeding infants outweighed any potential risks of transmission of COVID-19 virus, and thus, new mors infected with COVID-19 can continue breastfeeding and should t be separated from ir babies.
Benefits outweigh risks
During a press conference, WHO director-general Tedros ham Ghebreyesus said that children are at low risk from COVID-19 but are really susceptible to a host of diseases that breastfeeding prevents. WHO claims to have done extensive research in trying to understand risks of women transmitting COVID-19 to ir babies during breastfeeding.

According to reports, a senior visor in WHO’s Department of Reproductive Health and Research, Anshu Banerjee, has stated that through ir research y have discovered that breastmilk only contains traces or fragments of coronavirus and t live virus itself and thus, risk of transmission from mor to child has t been established.

WHO les global fight against COVID-19
World Health Organisation (WHO) chief said that he would continue leing global fight against COVID-19 after US President Donald Trump threatened to permanently freeze funding. During his closing remarks at World Health Assembly on May 19, WHO Director-General Tedros ham Ghebreyesus said that UN health ncy is currently focussed on fighting pandemic with every tool at its disposal.

Dr Ghebreyesus emphasised on commitment of health ncy saying WHO will continue shipping diagstics, personal protective equipment and or medical supplies all over world and bringing toger leing experts from around world to develop technical vice, based on best science.
“We will continue working with countries and all relevant partners to ensure equitable access to tools to prevent, detect and treat COVID-19,” he ded.
