WHO's singular focus is to save lives, says chief after US freezes funding
After US President announced the freezing of funds, WHO chief said that they are working with a singular focus of saving lives and there is no time to waste.

After US President Donald Trump anunced freezing of funds to World Health Organisation (WHO), UN health ncy chief said that y are working with a singular focus of saving lives and re is time to waste. WHO Director-General Tedros ham Ghebreyesus took to Twitter to share updated response plan and strategy and, in an apparent response to Trump’s anuncement, said that health ncy is working to serve all people.
Trump h accused WHO of mismanment of coronavirus crisis while anuncing his decision during his daily White House briefing. US President, who h a heated argument with reporters at press conference a day before, said that a review is being conducted to assess WHO’s role in severely mismanaging and covering up spre of coronavirus.

During press briefing, Trump said that US, as WHO’s leing sponsor, has a duty to insist on full accountability of UN health ncy which “opposed travel restrictions” from China and or nations. US President ded that he was, fortunately, t convinced by WHO’s opposition and suspended travel from China “saving untold numbers of lives”.

Trump’s decision to freeze WHO’s fund drew quick reaction from United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres who said that ncy must be supported as it is absolutely critical to world’s efforts to win war against COVID-19. He said that it is t time to reduce resources for operation of WHO or any or humanitarian organisation in fight against pandemic.
