WHO chief welcomes proposed resolution seeking probe into COVID-19 response
The World Health Organisation (WHO) chief welcomed the proposed resolution, on May 18, seeking an independent and impartial probe into the COVID-19 response.

World Health Organisation (WHO) chief welcomed proposed resolution seeking an independent and impartial probe into COVID-19 response. dressing 73rd session of World Health Assembly (WHA) on May 18, WHO Director-General Tedros ham Ghebreyesus said that such evaluation must encompass entirety of response by all actors, in good faith.
“We welcome proposed resolution before World Health Assembly, which calls for a step-wise process of impartial, independent & comprehensive evaluation,” said top WHO official.
Referring to earlier reviews of disease outbreak, Dr Ghebreyesus said that some of recommendations to dress gaps during SARS and H1N1 pandemic were implemented while ors went unheeded. He highlighted that SARS outbreak gave rise to revision of International Health Regulations in 2005 and H1N1 pandemic saw creation of Pandemic Influenza Preparedness Framework.

"Today I am calling on all nations to resolve that y will do everything it takes to ensure that 2020 COVID-19 pandemic is never repeated,” said WHO chief.
Overwhelming support
draft resolution seeking an independent investigation into pandemic has been signed by 123 members countries of WHO. resolution has received overwhelming support from all member countries of European Union and 50 African nations. However, Chinese President Xi Jinping said that supports a comprehensive review of global response to pandemic led by UN health ncy but only after coronavirus is brought under control.
