Dhaka: Anti-Discrimination Student Movement coordinators have announced that Dr. Muhamm Yunus will le interim government in Banglesh as Chief viser.

In a video posted on social media early Tuesday morning, Nahid Islam, one of key coordinators of movement, said that Prof Yunus has agreed to take on this crucial responsibility at call of student community to save country, Daily Star newspaper reported.

Who is Muhamm Yunus, Likely To Le Banglesh Interim Government?

Muhamm Yunus is a social entrepreneur, banker, civil society leer and a banker who has also been awarded Nobel Prize for founding Grameen Bank and pioneering microcredit and microfinance concepts, in year 2006.

Apart from Nobel Prize, Muhamm Yunus is a recipient of multiple national and international awards including United States Presidential Medal of Freedom and Congressional Gold Medal.

Muhamm Yunus was also on board of directors of United Nations Foundation from 1998 to 2021.

Educational Qualifications of Muhamm Yunus

Speaking about educational qualifications of Muhamm Yunus, social worker, entrepreneur and banker did his schooling from Lamabazar Primary School in Chittagong.

In his matriculation examination, Muhamm Yunus secured 16th rank and passed out with flying colours from Chittagong Collegiate School in East Pakistan (later, East Bengal in Banglesh).

He completed his higher education from Chittagong College and Dhaka University. 

Muhamm Yunus did his PhD in Economics as part of Vanderbilt University Gruate Program in Economic Development (GPED) in year 1971. He also ran Banglesh Information Centre in US and also founded citizen's committee during Banglesh Liberation War in 1971.

Muhamm Yunus was first Bangleshi to win a Nobel Prize; he shared this honour with Grameen Bank.

Muhamm Yunus To Be Chief viser of Interim Govt

Nahid, coordinator of Anti-Discrimination Student Movement said, "We have decided that interim government would be formed in which internationally renowned Nobel Laureate Dr Mohamm Yunus, who has wide acceptability, would be chief viser." 

"We took 24 hours to announce a framework for interim government. However, considering emergency situation, we are announcing it now," Nahid ded.
