WHO reports over 1,700 new cases of deadly coronavirus outside China
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has confirmed more than 1,700 new cases of the deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) outside mainland China, as per reports.

WHO reportedly said in its coronavirus disease situation report that total number of confirmed cases outside China h increased by 1, 792 to 10, 566 in 72 countries. It furr ded that death toll outside China h risen by 37 to 166, as per reports.

UN released $15 million
According to reports, total confirmed cases in China stands at 80, 270 while death toll has gone upto 2, 946. total number of coronavirus cases globally has increased by 1, 922 to 90, 870. United Nations has released $15 million from Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) to help fund global efforts to contain vel coronavirus. UN Humanitarian Chief Mark Lowcock anunced release of fund after World Health Organisation (WHO) raised alert to its top level of risk assessment - ‘very high’.

UN funding has been released for WHO and UNICEF to help essential activities including monitoring spre of virus, investigating cases, and operation of national laboratories. WHO has called for $675 million in funding to combat dely virus. WHO Director-General Tedros ham Ghebreyesus said that biggest concern is countries with weaker health systems. WHO has said that re is still a chance to contain dely virus if chain of transmission gets broken. Coronavirus cases in Italy, Iran, and South Korea dramatically increased within a week.
