World Health Organisation (WHO) in a brief statement on April 24 said that it will launch a 'landmark collaboration' to accelerate development, production, and equitable global access to new COVID-19 essential health techlogies. WHO said that initiative is aimed at providing effective drugs, tests, and vaccines to everyone so y can prevent, diagse, and treat COVID-19.

" launch of new collaboration is being co-hosted by WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros ham Ghebreyesus, Emmanuel Macron, President of French Republic, Ursula von der Leyen, President of European Commission, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. virtual event will include senior United Nations, government, and public health and industry leers from around world," WHO in statement said.

WHO Director-General Tedros ham Ghebreyesus on April 6 h said that he planned to anunce an initiative to accelerate development of vaccine and to make products available to everyone. "While we're looking for vaccines, unless we break barriers to equitable distribution of products, wher it's vaccines or rapeutics, we will have a problem, so we need to dress problem ahe of time," he said.

World Health Organisation (WHO) faced a lot of criticism from international community for its handling of coronavirus outbreak. United States h accused global health ncy of siding with China amid pandemic and t pressuring Communist government in Beijing eugh to share full information about disease. US President Donald Trump on April 15 anunced that his country would halt funding to WHO, accusing it of favouring China. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has also demanded an independent inquiry into China's initial handling of outbreak.
