Every year on October 10, the world celebrates World Mental Health Day. The day was chosen by the World Health Organisation (WHO) to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilize efforts in support of mental health. World Federation for Mental Health makes annual efforts to organise the day and 2019's theme has been chosen to be suicide prevention. Also known as 'emotional health' or 'emotional well-being', mental health means more than not having a mental health disorder - being mentally healthy also means being able to cope with life, its challenges and making the most of your potential, cites Mental Health foundation.

Yet the world is yet to get rid of the stigmas associated with mental health. Many celebrities have publicly shared their struggles and tried their part in raising awareness. All of the media at large is also a staunch advocate on the issue. WWF UK advocated the effect of nature on mental health. Likewise, Arts Council England talked of the wonders arts does to the mind. Even UNICEF posted on behalf today citing that taking care of the mind is not selfish.
