Suzuki recalls 1,056 units of Hayabusa in India over faulty brake issue

Suzuki Hayabusa recalled: Suzuki Motorcycles has issued a voluntary recall of 1,056 units of the third generation of the popular sports bike Hayabusa in India over a potential front brake issue. Hayabusa is a popular superbike on sale in India and the third generation of the Hayabusa was launched in 2021.What is the issue?The issue is listed as “The front brake lever play increases, in the worst case, the lever contacts with the throttle grip, and the braking distance increases.” A total of 1,056 units have been affected by the issue.It appears that the front brake levers can get excessive play, to the point that the lever comes in contact with the throttle, which can lead to a dangerous situation. The braking system has always been an issue with the earlier generations of the Hayabusa. But with the launch of the third generation Hayabusa in 2021, the brake issues were resolved by providing Brembo Stylema calipers and 10mm larger discs.Republic Auto reached out to the company about what would be the necessary repairs but it refused to comment.Customers may reach out to their nearest dealership to check about the information on the recall.
