Delhi government introduces 'Anywhere Registration' policy for properties
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has granted approval for policy, and the necessary documentation has been forwarded to Lieutenant Governor for official notification.
Delhi residents can now register their properties at any sub-registrar's office, as announced by Revenue Minister Atishi on Thursday, unveiling the 'Anywhere Registration' policy. This initiative aims to alleviate the need for individuals to endure long queues at specific sub-registrar offices, promoting transparency and combating corruption.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has granted approval for the policy, and the necessary documentation has been forwarded to the Lieutenant Governor for official notification.
The Delhi government's Revenue Department has taken the decision to implement the 'Anywhere Registration' policy, allowing individuals the flexibility to choose any sub-registrar's office for property registration, as outlined in a later statement.
The new policy is designed to address complaints, often reaching Chief Minister Kejriwal, about issues in sub-registrar offices.
Frequently reported problems include extended queues and instances of corruption within these offices. To tackle these concerns, the Revenue Department initiated the 'Anywhere Registration' policy.
Under this policy, all sub-registrars in Delhi will function as joint sub-registrars, covering the entire jurisdiction of Delhi.
Residents in Delhi can now make online appointments for property registration at any of the 22 sub-registrar offices in the city. This move is expected to streamline the registration process and contribute to greater efficiency and transparency in property transactions.
