Ambala, India – The fifth edition of VINBAX 2024, the bilateral military exercise between the Indian and Vietnamese armed forces, is underway at Ambala, Haryana, from November 4 to November 23, 2024. This joint exercise underscores the shared commitment of both nations to strengthening military cooperation and enhancing operational capabilities in peacekeeping missions under Chapter VII of the United Nations (UN) Charter.
The training focuses on deploying Combat Engineering Companies and Medical Teams for UN-mandated missions, with activities designed to improve interoperability and address humanitarian challenges.
Validation Phase Highlights Operational Proficiency
The validation phase of VINBAX 2024 was conducted on November 19 and 20. During this critical phase, the joint contingent showcased their ability to construct force protection assets and perform other UN-mandated tasks, reflecting the high training standards achieved. Rehabilitation and restoration activities were also undertaken, highlighting the effective employment of medical teams for humanitarian assistance.
This phase demonstrated the strong coordination between the two forces, showcasing their readiness to respond to complex peacekeeping scenarios.
Integration of Air Assets Marks a Milestone
For the first time in the VINBAX series, extensive use of air assets was incorporated. Contributions from the Indian Air Force and Indian Army Aviation included reconnaissance missions, aerial insertion of personnel and materials, and underslung carriage of engineering equipment.
