NEET-UG 2024 Counselling Registration To Begin Soon After Revised NEET Result; Key Details Here

New Delhi: As the Supreme Court refused to cancel the NEET-UG 2024 citing lack of evidence to prove widespread paper leak, candidates are now expecting that the counselling will begin soon. However, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) might not begin the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG 2024) counselling registration today, July 24. It is noteworthy that NTA had in the Supreme Court through an affidavit that the counselling will begin on July 24. However, a delay of a few days in the counselling is expected as the top court asked NTA to declare a revised result for candidates who opted for option 2 in the ambiguous Physics question which was discussed in the court. 

NTA will revise the NEET-UG merit list by treating the answer suggested by a panel of three experts of IIT Delhi to a controversial physics question as the correct one. Earlier, the NTA awarded 4 marks to this question by considering two options as correct. However, the panel suggested that only option number 4 is correct and there cannot be two correct options. Moreover, the court had suggested to not award negative marking for those who opted for option 2 as it was mentioned in the old NCERT books.

NEET-UG Counselling 2024

MCC will release the seat matrix and schedule for NEET-UG counselling soon. The same can be checked on the official website- mcc.nic.in. The NEET counselling will be held in four rounds for all India quota (AIQ) online counselling. Once the seat matrix is out, the registrations will begin within a day.
