NEET-PG 2024 New Date Likely To Be Announced Today by NBEMS
The National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is likely to announce the new date for conducting the NEET-PG 2024 today.
The National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences will announce the new date for conducting the NEET-PG 2024 soon. The exam which was scheduled to be held on June 23 was postponed 12 hours before the exam. As per sources, the revised date for NEET-PG 2024 can be announced today.
Earlier this week, NBEMS president, Abhijat Sheth had said that the new date for conducting the exam will be announced in a week. In a meeting with Anilkumar J Nayak, honorary secretary general of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Thursday, Sheth assured that the exam date will be announced shortly.
“Unlike NEET UG aspirants those appearing for NEET PG examination are full-fledged doctors either at work in the hospitals or studying intensively under several coaching centres. The disruption in NEET PG not only affects the doctors and their services but also dislocates patient care at several centres. IMA acknowledged the fact NBE has been an institution of excellence and has an unblemished record in conducting examinations across the board for medical graduates,” Nayak said.
A review meeting between NBEMS and union health ministry officials was held this week to assess the situation and the feedback received by the government. The exam was postponed as a precautionary measure in the light of NEET-UG and UGC-NET paper leak cases.
The NBEMS president had earlier stated that the integrity of the NEET-PG exam has never been doubted. However, recent concerns from the students prompted the government to review the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols to ensure the sanctity, safety, and security of the examination.
Previously, NBEMS had revised the examination pattern of the NEET-PG 2024 .“NBEMS has decided to introduce mandatory time-bound sections in all its MCQ-based examinations, such as NEET-PG, NEET-MDS, NEET-SS, FMGE, DNB-PDCET, GPAT, DPEE, FDST, and FET, which are conducted on a computer-based platform. This measure has been implemented to enhance the security and sanctity of the exams in light of emerging threats during the examination process,” NBEMS had said earlier.
